Borderer: A skirmish level game set on the Anglo-Scottish border in the 16th Century
Anyone familiar with the history of the middle ages in Britain will likely at least have touched upon the subject of the Border Reivers. A collection of clans subverting and generally living outside of the law, the Border Reivers saw a period of destruction, violence, barbarism, and general unrest that was significant enough to earn them a reputation of infamy even to this day. The history of these clans that brought unrest to the border counties of northern England and Scotland is so interesting that you can read more about it in this short written journey through the Border Reivers history.
Borderer is a skirmish level game set on the Anglo-Scottish border in the C16th, for between half a dozen and forty figures a side.
Record keeping is kept to a minimum, although a small supply of wounded, surrender and looted goods markers are required.
Individual battles should last no more than a couple of hours, but the campaign rules allow for a multi-player club game of almost limitless raiding and counterraiding with appropriate blood feuds and bitterness!
